In support of the Occupy Wall Street movement, protesters marched on the California state capitol in Sacramento, Saturday October 15, 2011. At approximately 3PM, a crowd of nearly one thousand marched from Ceasar Chavez Park to the capitol, where group organizers and supporters called for changes in government and corporation practices.

On Tuesday, October 18, 2011, members of the Occupy Wall Street movement in Sacramento attended a City Council meeting seeking permission to occupy Ceasar Chavez Park overnight. Their request was denied by council members, and Sacramento mayor, Kevin Johnson. Currently, protesters aren’t allowed to stay overnight in the park per city ordinances. Occupiers have met at Ceasar Chavez Park daily since October 3, 2011.

Lisa and I had a fun time shooting this engagement session in Old Sacramento, CA. Shirley and Ricky were an awesome couple to work with! Very loving and comfortable with their time in front of the camera.
